If you're having issues with dry skin on your face, a dry skin face moisturizer may be just what you're looking for. The problem begins when you start looking at all the options available. Which one do you choose?
Before you run out and spend your hard earned money on some junk that you're going to have to put on your face about 10 times a day to keep your face moisturized, let's cover some ground rules.
Rule #1- Always go natural. When it comes to your skin, nothing can give it what it needs better than nature. The easiest way to do this is to buy products that are certified organic whenever possible. If you can't find something that fits that criteria it doesn't mean you're out of luck, it just means you're going to have to become somewhat of an ingredients detective.
Rule #2- Avoid products that contain alcohol. It may be fun to drink, but it's no good for your skin. A dry skin face moisturizer that contains any type of alcohol will only leave your skin dryer in the end. So avoid it.
Rule #3- Don't believe everything you read. You're looking through you're favorite magazine, you come across an advertisement for a new moisturizer by one of the big name cosmetic companies containing a new, natural, miracle ingredient. This must be an answer to your prayers! Don't get off your knee's just yet. By law, companies only have to put a certain percentage of an ingredient in the product to list it on the label. Oftentimes, they'll put only enough to meet this criteria, which is generally not enough to offer any real benefit. Ingredients are generally listed in order of percentage of content. Be aware!
